Bright World has worked with OISC for many years and we think they offer a perfect revision option for overseas students.

in the heart of Oxford

Oxford International Study Centre (OISC) is a well-established international school situated in the very centre of Oxford, between Christ Church and the Town Hall.

bespoke holiday revision courses

The school boasts 15 years’ experience in arranging bespoke holiday revision courses for students from the UK and overseas, both in school subjects and in English as a Foreign Language.

A level, IB and GCSE revision

Every year OISC has helped students realise their true potential by offering small group and individual tuition in over 30 different subjects for AS/A-Level, (I)GCSE, and IB, and a range of other examinations.

accredited by ISI

OISC is accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (“exceeds expectations” in all areas), and is an accredited member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), and the European Association for International Education.

high quality single en-suite rooms

OSIC bedroom

Accommodation is in single rooms (unless friends wish to share) with half board and weekend. Students will either stay at Oxford University or within a comfortable student residence just 5-10 minutes walk from OISC.

Students have the option to stay in single or twin bedrooms. Executive rooms with a private bathroom and kitchen area are also available on booking for students aged 18+.

Breakfast and Dinner are included in the price of the accommodation and programme. There is also a restaurant onsite where students can purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Students may prefer to make their own food in their studio which is equipped with a fridge freezer and a kitchenette. Takeaways can be ordered easily and there are numerous restaurants and cafes situated a few minutes walk away from the centre.

the programme and what to expect

OISC's Easter courses include:

    • Small group or one-to-one tuition, providing an intensive level of personal attention not often found in the classroom setting and enabling material to be covered at a student’s individual pace.

    • Assignments and tests, with effective feedback, allowing a student to see exactly where marks are being dropped, and how best to avoid these deductions.

    • Comprehensive reports at the end of the programme, to allow students to continue making good progress with independent study.

OISC include all of the above features as standard, and can support students working towards any of the following:

  • A– Level and (I)GCSE, with all syllabuses and subjects offered
  • IB at HL and SL, (including ToK and Extended Essay support if required)
  • German Abitur
  • English Language Exams, including IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge, as well as general support in EFL for non-native speakers taking other academic subjects
  • Boarding School Entrance Tests, including ISEB, UKISET, and other independent entrance and scholarship examinations, including 13+ and 16+
