Today the Bright World team is sporting their festive finery, in order to support and promote Christmas Jumper Day. This annual campaign is organised by charity Save the Children, which operates to help children in need all over the world. By encouraging people to make a donation as well as wearing their Christmas jumper, Save the Children hope to raise a substantial amount of money to put towards good causes.
Every year, this day is championed by businesses and organisations across the UK, who support the initiative by asking their staff to turn up in their best (or sometimes worst) Christmas jumpers. As you can see below, this was well represented by Bright World staff today.
To make it easier for staff to donate, we have set up our own unique text code, TEAMBRIGHT20. By texting this code to 70050, a donation of £2 is automatically made to the charity.
Save the Children was founded back in 1919, and since then the charity has worked to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. In addition to the UK organisation, there are 29 other national organisations who are members of the same alliance, forming a global network of nonprofit organisations that support local partners in more than 120 countries around the world.
Since it's launch in 2012, Christmas Jumper Day has become a huge annual campaign, with more and more people taking part every year.
